We want to build a stronger skill set of 1694th Scout Team. So we want to review and learn from the basic on how we shall prepare for camping and the safety tips on how to operate our camping gear. The knowledge seem easy and we have been reviewed many times in different meetings but they are all essential to know.
We are very lucky to have a fantastic weather during our district camp at Po Leung Kuk Pak Tam Chung Holiday Camp. The group has different activities mix with other scout/cub scout teams during these three days. The aim for the camp is to make friends from other groups while having fun. The whole group has been divided into 26 patrols and all of them have to attend total 14 different game station within and outside the camp site on Sat. They have to complete all the tasks that given in each booth in order to get the clue and sort out the answer at the end. We have master chef competition at night and end by a Gangshow night. Sunday the group has divided into two team to go for a approximate 1.5 hour of hiking and airsoft game.
Mar 10, 2018 Backwoods cook preparation... how to setup a fire easily and efficiently @ Nai Chung BBQ Site
This week, we move our scout meeting from school to Nai Chung BBQ Site. We start to learn backwoods cook from beginning ~ how to setup a fire efficiently with nature materials. Scouts learn how to pick the right nature materials as setup, use of matches / fire steel to start a fire. Beside how we put the charcoal, we also learn the wind direction and how we blow in oxygen to maintain the fire is essential. Also, we have to sharpen the bamboo stick for BBQ. Although we practice all these skills before but it is always better to learn from basic.
Thank you Falcons team, Dilys, Luc, Bowie, Maggie, Jon, Tanush and YinTo, to prepare a very informative presentation of Meteorologist and Leave No Trace to the group. Leader John teach the team of an official way of per patrol uniform inspection process. We shall work on this more regularly from now on.
