Finally come to the end of the last even of the year ~ End Of Year Ceremony. Scouts come back to school earlier to setup the gadgets and backwoods cook showcase share to all participants today of what they have learnt for the year. This will be our last meeting for the year and see you all again after summer holiday!
After the team prepare their own patrol flags on Jun 9, 2018, we can actually learn how to use of the two patrol flags for coding game. Each of the patrol need to setup their own coding system in order to communicate with their team mates from far end.
Beside playing game, we also have a scout own sharing section. When we return to school, the team has been working on the gear inspection and check.
A group of scouts who have nominated themselves as PLC for next year has a fantastic discussion and interview for the date. The PLC candidate even lead a group of new scouts candidate for the interview. Rest of the team is working hard on the flag making to prepare our next week coding activity.
Thanks for the good weather. We have experienced a fantastic 3 days End of Year Camp at Tai Tam Scout Center. We cook all our meals during these three days and most of the scouts can also achieve and able to earn the Cook (Chinese cook) badge. The team built a lot of gadgets at out camp site, went for a fun day of Kayaking and whole team walk all the way from camp site to Dragon back on Sunday.
Each patrol is required to design 3 different items of gadgets for the date and at least one of the items must be kitchen set related. The group is doing extremely good job to setup all gadgets nicely.
At the end, the team work on the EOYC camp gear inspection and get ready for the next week End Of Year Camp.
Group of scouts are very interested to know more about the meaning of Progressive Award and how they can achieve up-to certain level. Thank you to Leader John provide such an informative discussion and sharing to the team.
We have so many outdoor activities recently and it is time for us to sit down and discuss some of the global issue and social community around us. Furthermore, scouts learn the appropriate way for scout on how to raise up their hand. The team learn bit by bit in every meeting and we can see a big improvement for the team.
We have a great hiking day with scouts on May 12, 2018. The group start from Renaissance College all the way to Sai Kung Fire Station. At the end of the hiking track, group leaders buy each of the scout an ice pocari sweat as recognize of their great effort from last week bamboo labeling activity.
In order to build a stronger scout team, we prepare more standard scout equipment for each of the patrol. We are so proud of our scouts improve both skills and mindset so much within such a short period of time.
Group of scouts come back before or stay behind meeting to work on the EOYC and JOTT plan for the group.
Gadgets introduction and patrol bamboo allocation and labeling activity
It was a great fun day that we eve had. We used of all nature materials to setup the fire and to cook. Each of the patrol is required to cook for 4 different foods, fish, chicken, potato & egg and bread. We can see a lot of you have a very creative way to cook your foods with limited resource provide. You can demonstrate how well you can use of nature material in order to prepare a delicious meal for the day. Congratulate to all who have enroll and pass on the backwoods cook assessment. For those that you have not take the assessment, we encourage you to do so next time as you all have done so well but you just have to take a proactive step to earn for what you deserve. A big thanks to Leader Ray, Mabel and John of all your preparation in the past weeks for this particular day and also thanks to all leaders and scouts who give us a hand on all the preparation work before the event. Without any one of your support, we cannot enjoy such a delicious meal on the date.
